Profile

Jack Barnes Architect, PC was founded in 2004, with a focus on sustainable design for residential and light commercial projects. Our clients include homeowners, non-profits, and local businesses.

We feel fortunate to live and work in a place where architectural heritage is valued, yet innovation is welcomed. Our range of work reflects this – we enjoy the creative freedom of designing new custom homes, but we also thrive on the challenges of updating and restoring older structures in a sensitive and timeless manner.

Jack has been practicing architecture since 1995, and is licensed as an architect in Oregon and Washington. He is also certified by the National Council of Architecture Registration Boards (NCARB) and has achieved Sustainable Homes Professional (SHP) certification through the Earth Advantage Institute. Jack is recognized by the Passive House Institute US as a Certified Passive House Consultant (CPHC). Our firm is a supporting member business of Passive House Northwest and we are enthusiastic adopters of the Architecture 2030 Challenge.

Our practice is dedicated to environmental responsibility in the construction and operation of buildings. Read more about our green principles here.
