Poolside Cabana

Having recently completed a thoughtful remodel of an amazing midcentury modern ranch home, these clients were looking for a way to add a new poolside pavilion—It needed to be fitting and respectful of the historic house, while also providing ample extended space for cooking, dining and entertaining outdoors in all seasons.

The project brief called for the new structure to integrate with existing hardscape features such as stairs, retaining walls, and of course the pool itself. We were also careful to leave the existing poolside paving intact, using a new raised deck to conceal new foundations and minimize site disturbance. This added a step-up from the pool surround, but had a nice benefit of changing the surface underfoot for some relief on hot summer days.
